Label : Bass4Bots
Cat No. : B4B-04
Bass4Bots is proud to announce that after several years of searching on distant planets, our research team has finally discovered the missing link to machine consciousness . We are now (for the first time ever), able to provide your machine with a heart. It will not only act human-like; it will also have a self-depending and unpredictable character, just like a friend or a child.
Our "People of Earth" program can now update your robot (or any
machine of your choice) with a synthetic soul, no additional devices such as needles or implants required! Don’t sleep on this, make your robot happy...now...!
Funk fuelled, glitchy and direct electro. The Hidden Persuader emits bass, beat and tone manipulation from Cardiff, Wales, UK. Typical sound sources consist of circuit-bent instruments, frequency feedback, loop and software manipulation.
DJ MAG The Hidden Persuader drops an excellent electro release that alternates between the shuffling 808s and detuned bleeps of 'Beat of My Heart', the tranced-out 'Bio Wave' and the distorted fuzz of 'We Are Computer'.
Here's the long awaited fourth release of Bass4Bots since 2008. After a short break, the German Electro label run by Berlin based The Hycon returns to business with a mind blowing LP from the like of UK wizard Bob Davies aka The Hidden Persuader.
Succeeding to Espion & Point B, and Scape One, the Access Tonal Communications co-founder introduces today his second album, considering "Electrocratic" as his first one on his own structure early this year.
Making a name for himself since 2005 with notable appearances on labels such like Shameless Toady, Binalog Productions or DiamondBack Recordings, the Cardiff, Wales, agent offers a punchy six tracker with a very homogeneous glitchy overtone.
Dancefloor "The Beat Of My Heart" starts off this synthetic release with discrete vocals combined to classy spacey melodies over funky programming. There's nothing better than a strong tune to open a solid opus!
"People Of Earth", the title track, pushes forward the boundaries of Electro Funk thanks to dark sawtooth bass synths, bubbling sequences and robotic lyrics. "We Are Computer" sounds like another winner, merging with skill 808 beats, Kraftwerish style vocoder, emotional melodies and bleepy touches. One of the album highlights!
On the flipside, fantastic "Bio-Wave" ventures into deeper and gloomy ways while inspired "Multiply" will remind of Mariel Ito or Boris Divider forward thinking styles: soothing atmosphere melt with compressed bass kicks, distorted patterns and Sci Fi loops, this one is definitively my favorite! Finally "Arrival" drives the album to a magistral conclusion, offering attractive groovy digressions over computer games sounds and a powerful bassline.
If the A side uses many filtered vocals, the reverse leads us into darker and more instrumental arrangements. With a release of such caliber, Bass4Bot is making a remarkable come back on the electro scene.
Welcome home B4B!

Cardiff's Hidden Persuader is a self-confessed electronics junkie who has been known to nab all sorts of old equipment and reconstitute it for his 'circuit bending purposes'. This new EP is his first for Germany's Bass4bot and features six cuts of traditional electro, which luckily boast an extra coat of modern fizz to keep the sound from veering into pure pastiche territory. Big props to the sinister, arpeggiated weirdness of "Bio-Wave", the EP's stand out track.
